To let your Xbox One console communicate with Xbox Live, you might have to open or forward ports, which means you'll be making a configuration change to your firewall or network hardware, such as a router. Port forwarding for Xbox One is done on your router or other network hardware, not on the Xbox console itself. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) If you need help, we recommend you contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Every computer or console has standard ports that are most commonly used when they connect to the internet, PlayStation™Network, or Xbox Live. Xbox One requires several additional ports for proper Xbox LIVE (Open NAT) functionality. You can find them on support.xbox.com under the Xbox One section. If you continue to receive disconnects or don't use an Xbox One, others should be able to better assist.

Many university networks and proxies block required ports for Steam operation - please consult your network administrator to ensure the required ports are open if you are using a university network or a proxy. Ports required for Steam can not be re-mapped to HTTP or reconfigured to a custom port range. What network ports are needed for streaming with Live:Air Chat for Twitch, YouTube Live, or Facebook Live. The McAfee security software Personal Firewall has default security levels set to block remotely initiated connections. Router connection issues can appear to be a problem with your Firewall or other applications. If you use a different application, adapt the steps to suit.
